Motion Detector

Support for hardware motion detector connected to IOIO-OTG extension board.

Parts required

• Extension board: IOIO-OTG, with USB-OTG cable, other source
• Motion Sensor: PIR HC-SR501, other source, other source
• Power Adapter: 5V DC 2A, Barrel Jack 5.5x2.1mm, other source
• Power Cord: Barrel Jack 2.1x 5.5mm to 2-pin JST, other source

How to connect using USB direct connection

• Connect PIN out of motion detector to PIN 1 on IOIO-OTG board, PIN 1 is in PULL-DOWN state so detector has to generate HIGH state when motion detected
• Connect power to motion detector, 5V to VCC PIN and GND to GND PIN on motion detector board
• Connect USB cable to OTG-USB cable and then connect OTG-USB cable to the IOIO-OTG board
• Connect USB cable your device
• Connect power source to IOIO-OTG board

When everything connected RED LED on IOIO-OTG should light up and your device should begin charging, if application is already installed on screen you should see question to run Motion Detector app

Operation hints

• When app is activated and connection to IOIO-OTG is established, STAT LED should blink few ot times
• When motion is detected STAT LED should light up for around one second
• When using direct USB connection, USB debugging must be disabled on device with Android older than 4.1
• Most PIR sensors need some time after power up to gain full operation capacity
